Introduction to Always On Research

Initially the Always On projects adopted an action research approach. Arrangements were made that were thought likely to result in some transformation of school (or classroom) cultures. The core interventions included the provision of

• class sets of handheld computers (PDAs)
• a virtual classroom (online) and associated course materials
• researcher support to the participating schools and teachers
